Mushroom Amigurumi

Materials: 

3.5mm hook

Tapestry needle

Less than 1 skein each of 2 colors of worsted weight yarn

 

Abbreviations:

MR=magic ring

sc=single crochet

ss=slip stitch

fpsc=front post single crochet

bpsc=back post single crochet

dc=double crochet

tc=treble crochet

sc2tog=single crochet 2 together (decrease)

BLO=back loop only

FO=fasten off

Gauge Note: Gauge is not important for this pattern. It can be worked with any gauge of yarn with corresponding hook size. 

 

Spots:

Note: All spots are completed in 1 round. Make sure to leave long tails for sewing them to the cap of the mushroom.

Large spots (make 3): standing tc, 15 tc into MR, join with ss. (16 tc)

Medium spots (make 2): standing dc, 9 dc into MR, join with ss. (10 dc)

Small spots (make 2): 6 sc into MR, join with ss. (6 sc)

Note About Spots: I like to start with the large spots spacing them even around the cap of the mushroom, but at different heights, one high near the crown, one in the middle and one near the bottom edge. Add the medium and small spots, spacing them between the large spots as desired. I like to place each size pair on roughly opposite sides from each other, but at different heights, one near the crown and one near the bottom edge. SEE PICTURES BELOW*
