*Add a face to RS of 1 or both centers if desired.*

Points (Repeat this procedure 5 times):

Starting Note: To start stack the centers on top of each other with both RS facing out (1 will face up and 1 will face down with the WS sandwiched in the middle. You will connect these centers when making the points, but will only stitch through 1 layer at a time. Begin where your yarn is still attached from completing the 2nd center.

Round 6: ch 1, sc in same stitch as join (from previous round), sc in next 9 sc, turn your work so that the bottom center is facing you and sc in any sc, sc in next 9 sc of the bottom center, turn your work back to the top center and ss into 1st sc of round. (20 sc) SEE PICTURES BELOW

The centers may be slightly “ruffled” along the edges. This is ok! It will straighten out as you add the points.

The yarn is still attached from completing the 2nd center on the right and the stitch marker on the left shows where the last stitch of the last (top) center and the 1st stitch of the bottom center will fall. Make sure that when you make the 1st sc into the bottom center you insert you hook through the RS. The point of your hook should always point toward the inside of the star (like in NEXT PICTURE).

Round 7: ch 1, sc in same sc as join, sc in each sc around, join with ss. (20 sc) SEE PICTURE BELOW

The point will work upwards from here. Joining the centers should create this new smaller ring to work upward toward the tip of the point.

Round 8: ch 1, sc in same sc as join, sc in next sc, sc2tog, *sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog* repeat *to* around, join with ss. (15 sc)

Round 9: ch 1, sc in same sc as join, sc2tog, *sc in next sc, sc2tog* repeat *to* around, join with ss. (10 sc)

Round 10: ch 1, sc2tog beginning in same sc as join, sc2tog around, join with ss. (5 sc)

Finishing Note: FO and use tail to pull tip of point closed. Tuck tail to the inside the star. Stuff firmly. Repeat for the next 4 points joining yarn with a standing sc in the next sc (next to the point you just finished) on either center. Remember to only work through 1 center at a time! SEE PICTURE BELOW

The standing sc is completed just to the left of the last completed point (lefties, this will be opposite for you). Notice I have left the tail OUTSIDE of the star.

TIP for adding the rest of the points: I like to start these points with a standing sc leaving a little bit of tail to the OUTSIDE of the star. I use this tail to pull the small gaps between the points closed and then tuck the tail to the INSIDE of the star. Don’t forget to stuff the center of the star before completing the last point! SEE PICTURE BELOW

Use the tail you left when joining the yarn (see PREVIOUS PICTURE) to close the gap between the point. When the gap is closed pull the yarn to the INSIDE of the star.
